Meriden, CT — March 2, 2026 — Universal Hotel Liquidators (UHL), one of the largest suppliers of five-star hotel furniture and liquidation inventory in the United States, announced today that it will be relocating from its long-time West Haven location to a new, expanded showroom inside the Meriden Mall. The company anticipates opening in late April or early May.

UHL will occupy the former Dick’s Sporting Goods space, providing significantly more room for product display, customer service, and warehouse operations. The central Meriden location places the company closer to customers in Hartford and improves accessibility to all of our Connecticut customers.

To facilitate the move, Universal Hotel Liquidators will be hosting Connecticut’s largest garage sale at its West Haven warehouse. All merchandise in the West Haven warehouse will be offered at up to 75% off. With thousands of items that cannot be transported to the new location, UHL is offering tremendous deals to the public on chairs, tables, sofas, artwork, mirrors, and much more – truly one-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

White added, “This transition marks an important step in our company’s evolution. The additional space and improved location will help us expand our inventory, streamline operations, and deliver an even better experience for everyone who walks through our doors.”

A spokesperson for the Meriden Mall shared their enthusiasm, stating, “We are committed to the future of the Meriden Mall and to preserving its legacy as a cherished community destination. Universal Hotel Liquidators is a trusted New England retailer providing shoppers with affordable commercial-quality furniture, and we are excited they have chosen Meriden Mall as its new home. We look forward to seeing the brand thrive here and to the energy and momentum it will bring to the property.”

Feest, the Economic Development Director for Meriden, also welcomed Universal Hotel Liquidators, saying “As the Meriden Mall continues to reshape itself from retail to a broader mix of commercial businesses, we are excited to welcome UHL to our city and look forward to many years of success.”
